Design, the expression of my passion

In this article, Marie-Laure explains how she discovered that designing is a passion for her.

« It turns out I've always loved decorating, as far back as I can remember. »

Do you have a passion?

I wonder if this question is trivial, even obvious to most people. Or if, on the contrary, it raises a big question.

I'll reveal a part of me: I've spent a large part of my life without asking myself this question. Weird, huh? I actually like a lot of things... And until about 2 years ago, I was fine with this simple fact.

But one day, I asked a person close to me, the following question:

"But why do you watch soccer every day?"

And he replied, "Because it's my passion."

"Your passion?"

"Yes it's my passion, since I was a little kid".

I didn't think that this basic conversation was going to get me into such deep thought. "But by the way, what is my passion?" I felt bad, at the thought that I didn't have a passion. At least, nothing that was so obvious to me.

In reality I did have a passion, and it was present and even growing over time. But as long as I didn't ask myself about it, it remained unconscious.

I have always loved design

As far as my youthful memories can go. I have always been sensitive to beautiful things. As a child, I was particularly fond of creative hobbies. As a teenager, I regularly changed the furniture in my room to create new atmospheres...

As an adult, decorating my house has become my favorite hobby. Not only decorating, but imagining how to make my home more beautiful, more pleasant to live in.

I used to watch French home improvement shows like Valérie Damidot's D&CO, or Stéphane Plazza's Maison à Vendre, and I used to dream about American home improvement shows.

From time to time, I would say to myself "let's go and start a new project". It could be anything from simply redoing the paint, to redoing a room from scratch.

By the way, here is the video of Marie-Laure's kitchen renovation :

Sketches, drawings, reflection, hesitation, purchases ...

I was already taking great pleasure in it. So much so that each time a piece was finished, I felt at the same time a certain satisfaction of the final result, and the disappointment to see the challenge finished. I would ask myself "What am I going to do now?

This questioning about my passion, thus allowed me to understand that design, which includes renovation and interior design, really fascinates me.

It is therefore with great enthusiasm that I launched this project, which has now become Maison Ditaba (click here to discover our concept). In order to share my passion with you and put it at your service.

See you son ✨ !
